We start with a complimentary call or face to face meeting so you can explore the process and decide if career coaching is right for you. Some clients have been thinking about career coaching for many years but haven't had the confidence to take the first step. During this first meeting, we will find out a bit more about you, what you're looking for, and how we might work together.
- What are your objectives?
- What would you like to gain?
We will guide you through the process, our working approach, and answer any questions you may have. By the end of that meeting, you should have a good understanding of what's involved and if it's right for you. There is no obligation to work with us following this meeting. If you decide to continue, we will provide you with a Coaching Agreement and our Terms to outline the framework and the process. Some common questions include:
How much time out of the sessions will I need to commit?
There will be some home exercises to complete which will then be used during the coaching discussions. Your coach will carefully select the most appropriate tools and exercises based on your individual circumstances. Some of the exercises can be done together in the sessions.
How many meetings will there be?
It depends on your objectives but typically, one to one coaching involves 4 sessions lasting approximately 1.5 hours each.
How long should I leave between meetings?
To keep the process moving, we recommend not leaving more that 3 weeks between each session but again, each circumstance is different and there is always flexibility.
Where do the meetings take place?
Our preference is to meet you in person, either in our office or another of one our preferred venues but we know that that's not always possible. We can use Skype, Zoom or other on-line meeting options to work around your other commitments.
What is your cancellation policy or what if I need to change appointments at the last minute?
Before we start, we will provide you with our Terms of Business but we ask for 48 hours notice if you need to change an appointment.
Will you provide me with career advice in terms of potential job opportunities?
Career coaching is not the same as career guidance or advice. The emphasis is on enabling you to gain a much deeper insight into your strengths, skills and experience so you can make meaningful career related decisions. We will support you and help facilitate this process. We always aim to be as transparent as possible in terms of managing your expectations of the process.
What about standards and ethics?
We adhere to the Global Code of Ethics for Coaches & Mentors.
Do you run workshops?
Yes, we run bespoke workshops for smaller groups in areas like developing personal brand, interviewing skills, CV builder.
